It originated from my love for spicy food, cooking together and enjoying food. In 2021 I started an Instagram account called Sambalgirl. From that moment on my search from pepper to sambal began. It's not just about the spiciness; the taste is extremely important. Sambal should be an addition to a dish. It became so natural for me to eat sambal with everything, such as with a peanut butter sandwich, in my soup, with fries and with a snack board, so actually as a delicacy. I quickly discovered that many people think sambal is spicy, but that doesn't have to be the case. Sambal is about the taste, it should complement a dish.
